The LawWorks Clinics Team are currently working with Citizens Advice Rotherham & District to support them in setting up a pro bono legal advice clinic to better support their service users access free housing, family and immigration & asylum law legal advice. Although Citizens Advice Rotherham & District can provide general advice, a pro bono clinic is essential in ensuring that their service users can access timely, free housing, family and immigration law advice when required.

Summary of Service

NEAL offers free legal advice to EMPLOYERS on a range of employment law issues. Advice is provided by specialist employment law solicitors, who support the service on a voluntary basis. The service provides initial advice only and as such the clinic is not able to undertake casework or represent clients in Tribunal. Please note: No written advice is given to the clients during this clinic. Please provide your full name, position, contact telephone number and brief summary of your query when emailing the service for assistance. At present this service is only available to Employers and we are unable to assist any employees involved in or considering issuing Employment Tribunal proceedings.

Opening Times

NEAL Advice Clinics take place throughout the year but you will be contacted by a trained Student Assistant before the Advice Clinic, who will take further information about your matter. The Student Assistant will not be in a position to answer any questions or give any advice on the initial fact finding call.

Summary of Service

After making initial contact with the Clinic you will be contacted by a student volunteer who will take the full details of your matter. These details will then be reviewed by a solicitor who will confirm whether it is a matter we can assist with. If we are able to assist you we will contact you to arrange an appointment, which will normally be on a Monday afternoon or Thursday evening. If we cannot assist in your matter we will signpost you to other services who may be able to help. During the initial appointment you will speak with two student volunteers who will take the full details of your matter. They will draft a letter of advice under supervision which will be provided to you within two weeks of your appointment. Depending on student availability we may also be able to offer additional services, such as drafting mandatory reconsideration requests and representation at appeal hearings.

Summary of Service

The Enterprise Clinic provides an initial advice only service on all areas of business law, including contractual interpretation, disputes with suppliers or customers, and protection of intellectual property rights. When you contact the clinic a student case worker will telephone you to take the details of your case and the clinic manager will assess whether it is suitable, if the clinic is able to help you, you will be contacted to arrange an appointment. Appointments will usually be held online. At your appointment you will meet two student advisers. Following this meeting your appointed advisers will research the particulars of your case, supervised by qualified legal professionals, and then send you a letter of advice within 14 days of the appointment. The clinic can provide some further assistance subject to resources and expertise.
