At Liverpool John Moores University Legal Advice Centre, students, staff and external solicitor volunteers provide free legal advice and assistance to individuals who are not eligible for legal aid and cannot afford to pay for legal advice. The clinic overs a wide variety of areas of law including charity law, intellectual property, commercial, civil disputes, wills & contentious wills, family and housing.

The BIPC Birmingham provides free business and IP information and guidance to SMEs in the West Midlands. Searching IP rights databases e.g. trade marks, patents etc. are at the heart of the BIPC offer. The IP legal clinics are an extension of the wider IP support and are accessible after initial assessment through and/or work with the BIPC. The clinics are provided pro bono by local IP Attorneys/Solicitors. Appointments last for 30 minutes per business/individual and are intended to provide a verbal opinion on one or, at most, two specific legal IP questions. Please contact the BIPC to discuss.

Hertfordshire Law Clinic provides an initial advice only service. When you contact the clinic you will speak to a student case worker over the telephone to take brief details of your case and our supervising solicitors will assess whether we can help. If the clinic is able to help you, you will be contacted to arrange an appointment. At your appointment you will either (a) receive verbal advice from a qualified legal professional and the two students shadowing the meeting will then provide you with an attendance note of the meeting within 7 days; or (b) provide detailed instructions to two student advisers who will then provide you with a letter of advice (approved by a qualified legal professional) within 14 days.
